Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20th October 2026
These terms cover your use of theplantstalk.com and anything you book or buy from The Plants Talk. By using the website, booking or buying, you agree to them. Please read them with our Legal Disclaimer, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. Who we are
The Plants Talk is run by its owner, a sole trader based in Portugal. Our full name and postal address are given in your booking confirmation. Contact us at dev@theplantstalk.com.
2. Using the website
You may use the website for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not misuse it, try to break or overload it, copy it in bulk, or use it to break the law. We may change, suspend or remove any part of it at any time.
3. What we offer
We offer:
- a free intro call
- one-to-one sessions
- retreats
- Prepare & Integrate
- an e-book
- merchandise through the shop
Each offer is described on its own page or in the booking confirmation, including its price, dates and what is included.
4. Your wellbeing and your responsibility
- Our sessions, retreats and content are not medical care, and we do not diagnose or treat any condition or promise any result.
- Taking part is your choice. You are responsible for your own decisions, and for telling us before you book about anything we ought to know that could affect your safety or the safety of others.
- If you have a health condition or take prescribed medication, speak to your doctor before you take part.
- We do not sell, post or supply plant medicines. Retreats are held with partners, only where this is legal or permitted, and any plant medicine ceremony is provided by the partner under its own guidance, policy and terms, which you will be told about before you book. You must follow the law where you live.
- We may decline a booking, or ask someone to leave a session or retreat, if we think it is necessary for safety or respect for others.
- Anything that carries a specific risk will be explained to you in writing before you book.
5. Booking and payment
A booking or order is confirmed when we send you written confirmation. Prices are in euros and exclude VAT. Where VAT applies, it is added and shown before you pay. You pay by bank transfer, using the details in your booking confirmation. Shop orders are paid by card through Stripe. For retreats, a deposit is due to secure your place and the balance is due by the date given in your booking confirmation.
6. Changing or cancelling a session or retreat
- One-to-one sessions: you can cancel or move a session free of charge up to 48 hours before it starts. After that we may charge the full fee.
- Retreats: if you cancel more than 60 days before the start, we refund what you have paid except the deposit; between 30 and 60 days before the start, we refund 50% of what you have paid; and less than 30 days before the start, we cannot refund unless we fill your place.
- If we cancel or have to change a date, we will offer you a new date or a full refund of what you have paid for it.
- Your legal right to cancel: if you buy from us at a distance, you normally have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. That right does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date or period, such as retreats or a session on a fixed date. If you ask us to start a service within the 14 days, you pay for what we have already provided.
7. Shop orders
- Merchandise: we will tell you the delivery time and cost before you pay. You have 14 days from receiving the goods to tell us you want to return them, then a further 14 days to send them back. You pay the cost of returning them. We refund you within 14 days of getting the goods back.
- E-book and other downloads: you lose the 14-day right to cancel once the download has started, because you agree to this and acknowledge it at checkout.
- If goods are faulty or not as described, you keep your legal rights to a repair, replacement or refund.
8. Refunds
Where we owe you a refund, we pay it within 14 days, using the same method you paid with, unless you agree otherwise.
9. Our content and your messages
We own, or have permission to use, the content of this website and of what we provide. You may not copy or sell it without our written permission. If you send us a message or feedback, you keep it, and we will not publish it or your name without asking first.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude, and it does not affect your rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any booking or order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from our content, sessions or retreats.
11. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by something beyond our reasonable control, such as illness, severe weather, travel disruption or a failure of a service we rely on. If that happens, we will tell you and offer you a new date or a refund of what you have paid for it.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy, please tell us at dev@theplantstalk.com. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve the matter fairly.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
15. Changes
We may change these terms. The version in force when you book or order applies to that booking or order. The date at the top shows the latest version.
