Roots

“Long before you were born, the story had already begun.”
Every habit, instinct and reaction we carry has a history: our family’s, our culture’s, and a far older one that runs back through our ancestors and the living world around us.
This is where The Plants Talk looks at that bigger picture: where we come from, how the world we evolved for differs from the one we live in now, and how we are all connected. Not as a lesson in biology or history, but as a way of understanding ourselves.
Questions Roots asks
- Why do some things come so naturally to us, and others feel so hard?
- Why does modern life so often feel out of step with how we are built?
- How much of who we are was shaped before we had any say?
- What do we share with the animals closest to us?
- What can our connection to plants and nature tell us about ourselves?
- Where might we be heading?
Each question opens onto the others. Start with whichever one pulls at you.
Why Roots matters
Understanding where something comes from changes how we see it. When we place our patterns inside a wider story, ours, our family’s and our species’, they become easier to look at, and easier to talk about.
Roots sits at the centre of this site. It connects Mind, Brain and Plants, and shows how the threads between them fit together.
What this section is for
Roots gives you the bird’s-eye view. Each page below is an introduction, not the whole story. The detail lives in the articles and videos. Read in any order, and follow the links to Mind, Brain and Plants wherever a thread leads.
