Legal Disclaimer
Last updated: 20th October 2026
This page explains the basis on which The Plants Talk (“we”, “us”, “our”) shares information on theplantstalk.com. By using the website you accept it. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. Information, not advice
Everything on this website, including articles, videos, e-books, downloads and social media posts, is general information for education and interest. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it does not replace advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. If you are worried about your health or how you are feeling, please speak to your doctor or a qualified therapist.
2. No treatment and no promises
We do not diagnose or treat any condition, and we do not promise any result. Nothing on this website says that a plant, a practice or a session will help with any condition. How our sessions and retreats work is set out in our Terms and Conditions.
3. If you are struggling
If anything here brings up difficult feelings, you do not have to carry them alone. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. You can find one for your country at findahelpline.com. If you take prescribed medication or have a health condition, speak to your doctor before making any change.
4. Plant medicines and the law
We write about plant medicines (for example psilocybin mushrooms, ayahuasca, peyote and San Pedro) as subjects of research, culture and history. We do not sell, post or supply plant medicines. Retreats are held with partners, only where this is legal or permitted, and we do not encourage anyone to use, buy, possess or supply any substance that is illegal where they live. Any plant medicine ceremony at a retreat is provided by the partner under its own guidance, policy and terms, and you will be told about these before you book.
The legal status of these substances differs from country to country and can change. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law where you are. They can carry legal and health risks, including interactions with medication.
5. Research and opinion
We try to describe research accurately and to say when the evidence is early, limited or disputed. Research moves on, so some content may go out of date. The views expressed are ours, based on reading and personal experience. They do not represent any university, medical body, government or other institution.
6. Copyright
The content on this website belongs to The Plants Talk unless it says otherwise. You are welcome to share links and short quotations with credit. Any other copying, republishing or commercial use needs our written permission. Third-party material, such as embedded videos, belongs to its owners.
7. Third-party links and embedded content
We link to and embed content from other services, such as YouTube and Calendly. We do not control or endorse that content and are not responsible for it or for those services’ privacy practices.
8. Liability
We take care over this website, but we provide it as it is, and we cannot guarantee that it is accurate, complete or always available. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that arises from relying on the content of this website.
9. Governing law
This disclaimer is governed by the law of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
10. Changes
We may update this disclaimer from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, so please check it occasionally.
